Unlike people, orchids seem to like hanging out in the bathroom. At least my orchid does. Thanks to the magic microclimate, it's blooming for the third time with more flowers than ever and is doing much better than when it was living in a sunny living room. Since these photos were taken, it added 4 more buds.
Besides making my bathroom trips more aesthetically appealing, this plant reminds us all to never ascribe our personal preferences to others.

Happy birthday, Alex!
Since this blog owes its birth to Alex (actually, although it already saw the light of day, it is still half tied to him... with its ambilical cord, i guess?), we can not forget to wish him a happy birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX! Here, you deserve a large mango piece!

This blog's a success
This blog is a success. Why? Well because I like it. I have been checking it every day this week. Not that I was expecting anything to get updated – I am the only one who can add posts, while Alex is probably the only one who knows about this blog. So there was no chance for new posts and little chance for new comments (Alex!?), but for some reason checking it still made me happy. Have any idea why? I can almost say that I am following my blog... or can I; is an owner allowed to follow his own blog, and if yes, I wonder how frequently and for how long does one need to be visiting a blog, to be “following” it.
In any case it’s lunch time and so I decided to make a quick post to make all my followers (since advertiser demand count, there are somewhere between 0 and 2) happy. So, let’s all toast to Alex and to this new blog:
_______________
pretty crappy, huh? But when I email it to myself, display it on the screen, rotate my phone slightly, and shoot the same photo from the display, it ends up looking slightly better! (although, i must admit, still pretty crappy)

Oh, and here’s some cyber food for thought. Here's another subpar picture taken using/my phone:

Does cybespace have some yet-undiscovered powers to make pictures look better?

Writing under pressure
I have only a few minutes to express an interesting thought (still alex...) (because, when ana calls in five minutes, Alex has to be gone (now me)... oh, ana has just called (still me), and it also got a bit cloudier outside, an so much darker in the room.. I feel i've exhausted all blogging energy for now... will go back to doing useful things.
I don't know what to write
I am sitting here w/my friend Alex, who is encouraging me to start a blog. Several topics were discussed today: (this is by the way Alex writing, cause I can not come up with my own text, yet (this - in parenthesis, is actually me writing)) we talked about Katya's art project, which unfortunately must be kept a secret as we don't have her permission (Alex, come on, I don't want to write things that will make readers puke, this's got to be more interesting!), the reason I am starting this blog in the first place is because I am jealous of people doing interesting things outside of work (This sounds like a complete tool talking, is banal, and is not interesting to anyone! Come on, Alex, what else??) ... Now Alex is confused and doubting that I actually am interesting (hmmm..You are pretending to be me talking about you thinking about me...now, this actually might be something!.... but now, i'm confused too :)
